if you are constipated...this can cause you to bloat...take a laxative and see if that helps.... or eat a high fiber diet...lots of fruit & vegetables, and whole grains....that should keep your bowels regular...and relieve bloating...if you continue to feel bloated...you should have your Dr. ck. it out...just to be on the safe side.

You are not exactly bloated with water, you are constipated. It has nothing to do with your period. You need to eat something like prunes and drink loads of water, or whatever food normally travels through your system fairly quickly. Avoid using laxatives, but you can use a stool softener, something like Colace, which will help ease things along the way. Ask at the pharmacy for a stool softener, they will be able to help you there. It may take a day or so to help. In the meantime, eat salads and skip the dairy products, meat, and white bread. Eat all the veggies you can, along with whole grain products and fruit. Likely the first bowel movement will be uncomfortable, and don't try to rush it. Once you are going again, you need to continue to watch your diet. You really do need to eat salads, veggies and fruit, and whole grain foods, and go easy on the meat and white bread. You should be eating at least 4-5 servings of veggies a day, and 2-3 fruits at minimum. The lettuce and tomato on a burger are barely one serving- and you might as well not count the french fries at all. If you want to eat a potato, eat one with the skin on it and eat the skin. Choose whole wheat bread whenever you can or have the choice. Fruits like apples should be eaten skin and all, for the additional fiber, and choose whole fruit over juice- again for the fiber. If constipation is a problem for you, you can buy fiber powder to mix in a drink, but fiber from your diet is the best first choice for a source. If you don't have luck moving things along within 2-3 days, then you will need to try a mild laxative. One choice would be Milk of Magnesia, but again you can ask the pharmacist for a recommendation. That should work within a day. Even when you take this, you should continue eating the veggies, salads and fruits, and drink loads of water. All of this will work together to help. If all of this fails, you can take a stronger laxative, but this should really be a last resort. Laxatives are very harsh on the whole system, and the result is often a rebound constipation, as the body tries to recover from the massive diarrhea laxatives cause. Try the gentle approach first. Afterwards, keep up the healthy diet, and you shouldn't have the problem again.

You should really go see a doctor or an acupuncturist! It sounds like you have a major problem.
