Im tired of laying out under the harmful sun and even worse in the tanning bed... I dont have pastey white skin but I dont have olive toned skin... I guess my skin is just the average pale white person and I also have freckles and moles and I know I can be at potential for skin cancer, so while I'm young I would like to get a tan the safest way without destroying my skin anymore than I already have and expecially without looking ORANGE!! (I had a friend that used the self-tanning lotion and to be honest she looked like a pumpkin) ..... I was wondering if there were any good self-tanning lotions that were safe and that actually worked and didn't make my skin look orange or splotchy.... someone please help me find a good safe solution???

Same, I've tried all the fake tans on the market (St. Tropez, Fake Bake, Neutrogena, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Bobbi Brown, etc...) but the one I always come back to is L'Oreal Sublime Bronze in Light/Medium (it comes in a yellow bottle with an orange top) You can get it at a drugstore for about less than $10. Anyways, make sure to exfoliate right before, and apply a THIN layer (not too thick or else it will look orange) and re-apply straight for about 4 days (you can control the color and decide for yourself) each night or each morning (once a day is enough). Make sure to wash your face with a cleanser that does not contain any AHA (salicylic acid, etc..) so that you don't exfoliate your tan (Eucerin Redness Relife cleanser or Cetaphil Sensitive Skin cleanser both do not contain these AHA's)
Also, when you apply your sunless tanner, you don't even need to apply it to your eyelids (just around your eyes) And then, after the 4 days of self-tanning, apply a great bronzer (I LOVE Hoola Bronzer at Sephora or Macy's) and finish off with some red blush for a sun-kissed sunburned look (which looks much more natural just to your cheeks not your nose or forehead or else that will look weird)

I have been self tanning for YEARS because sun tanning has taken the toll on my skin that everybody said it would. I buy SUN from tanforless.com. It doesn't smell, it is NEVER orange, and looks very nice. You can buy it in dark, medium, and it's the same stuff they use in the mystic tanning (the ones that don't stink).

AND... I am no fan of B. Spears, but she uses FAKE BAKE. It's an okay color but smells like all the other crap.

well one of the cosmetologists i used to work with swore by "Big Sexy's" spray on tan (it's an aerosol), she used it every day on her face and arms, it washes off in the shower. It the salon im in now, the owner and tons of customers swear by a product called "Tan Towels", everyone that buys them has a really natural tan look, but I don't use them at all. The large box of Tan Towels that we sell runs 20 - 25 dollars, you always pay more for better quality.

Mystic Tan is great! It's the one where you go in and they spray the tan all over you. Just don't get it done too often because you will look orange, just do it a bit to get a little color.

firstly i don't believe we need fake tanning or to be tanned at all, after all what is wrong with the skin we are given but the products that gradually build up a tan after over a few days is a good idea dove make one and so do johnnson and johnnson. Good luck

Spray - on tans are ok. But i've never tryed. i'm like a mocha dark kind so i havent tryed any thing major. My friend has tryed spray but to me, it looks fake. Your best bet is to lay out side for like 5 - 8 mins., go inside and drink lots and lots of WATER, and go back outside till when ever.
