Personally, I haven't been dumped for money or a house. But, I will say that it is extremely common for Military men to marry strictly for money and to get out of the barracks. The Army gives you about an extra thousnad dollars for being married. So is it uncommon? No, not at all. And a lot of times these guys marry at young ages so they often end up cheating on their spouses for a women they fall in love with later on.

I know two men who met and married women online. Both now have nice homes, and retirements and new trucks ect, ect due to the financial shape of their spouses. Infact they have been married for at least 4 yrs so it seems it's ok for them.

I use to date this guy & seen him after many years & he found out my hubby was in Iraq & wanted t know how much he gets paid. Then he went into telling me about the girl he was screwing & how she was in the Alabama Guard & she was suppose to be going away & now that he knows she gets paid good he wants to settle down. Laughing wildly! Found out that he asked her to marry him on Thanksgiving. Pray for her cause he is dirt.

I once married a man to give him insurance and a place to live until he could collect disability benefits. He was no longer able to work and it took 18 months to get his disability approved. We later divorced when he could afford to live on his own. We married as "glorified room-mates" and were able to divorce as friends.
