well it seems you are in a rut, you re not happy with things entirely and you would like to feel a little more special. well there isnt too much you can do to change your man, but you can start doing things to change your relationship. if you start changing then he will react to this. do a few more thoughfull things now and then..... and you may get the reaction you are looking for.
try reading a book,
relation ship rescue
by dr phillip mcgraw would probably be a good start.

No it's not dead, it's just that the relationship isn't new anymore and you're each taking each other for granted. This is typical, in fact almost the norm. You can do little things to prompt it like when you come to a door, if you get there first, step to the side and make him open it. You need to be quick enough to scoot through first though, otherwise you'll be going in after him. Make sure you step to the side of the door so that when it is open it's open towards you, not to where you're behind it when it's open.

No it's not stupid at all. In fact it would be great to see guys treating women with respect and opening doors and treating their wife or gf like she's the only woman in the room.
I try very hard to do that with my wife. And no chivilry is not dead. Just that alot of men are not shown how to treat a lady much anymore.

I am old-fashioned. No matter how many cynical looks I get when I open a door for a woman, no matter how times a women says "you're funny" when I pay her a compliment, I am still going to be who I am. Now, it doesn't mean I am w/o flaws, but the part of being a gentleman, I have that down.

I am sorry to say but this young generation we are living in do not know how to treat a woman. My husband still opens the door for me and still likes to go on dates after being together for twenty-seven years; I know that I am very lucky to have him in life. We are from the old school where men were taught by there parents how to respect women.

It's not stupid at all. I love those qualities in men. I hope chivalry isn't dead! It's called manners too. Something that a lot of younger men do not have these days. Most women adore those traits. I wish there were more men, guys out there that would take heed.

As a man once told me: before you're married you're an investment, after you're married you're an expense. The honeymoon is usually over after about 2 years, so count yourself lucky. Sad isn't it?

No my husband still do things for me like that. It is how they were brought up, past relationship, emotional hang ups etc. You have to bring that back if you lost it and if you never had it he probably just not that type of person, but don't get tire of it know focus on what brought you together in the first place.

chivalry is dead and women killed it, you can thank all the rude women who wanted to be treated equal. as far as the honeymoon being over, did you marry a slave or a partner? you should just appreciate that he still talks to you. instead of looking at your husbands faults, look in the mirror and ask yourself" Am I the same person that he married?" then apologize for posting that question

I don't think that chivalry is totally dead. I do think that most men get lazy and don't think about what women really want. Have you told your husband what it is you want or are expecting? If I were you, that would be my first step. Let him know how it makes you feel to have him do these things for you. How else will he know?
