Just before you go on shake shake shake your hands arms and legs - get them all tingly and then you will be relaxed on stage

I totally freak out anytime I have to give a public speech. These techniques work really well for me - last year I even MC'd an academic presentation to a crowd of like two hundred people!

1. Make sure you feel prepared. If you're confident that you know the material you're presenting then that's one less thing to worry about.

2. Dress well. I know this sounds silly, but it helps me to look good. That way I'm not thinking about what people think of my appearance, and I can concentrate on keeping things together.

3. Pay attention to yourself, but not too much. Don't edit your presentation as you give it, and if you make a mistake or feel a fluster coming on, pause. This is important!: a pause or a mistake might feel like a huge thing to you as the presenter or speaker, but your audience may not even notice it! So, if you do screw up a little or get flustered, go ahead and take the opportunity to catch your breathe and get back on track.

4. Don't apologize for mistakes, and don't bring attention to them. Instead, just get back to the task at hand and before you know it anyone who did notice will be back on track and paying attention to what you want them to pay attention.

5. Finally, since you're on stage, people will gladly let you assume control of the situation - they will assume you're an expert on your topic, that you're a performer who knows his or her material. This works to your advantage! Think about it!

I hope that helps. The biggest thing, of course, is just practice and experience. Eventually you realize that it's no big deal to talk to a bunch of people all at once.

usually ur not gonna be able to see the audience because of the lighting in ur face, so u'll see black. that relieves the stress about being on stage. to be ready before, go to a quiet and solitary place where u feel comfortable doing anything u want and practice ur lines very over-the-top dramatically so u feel u got the hang of it, after, present it to most people possible. that way, u'll feel like ur used to it. and when ur on stage u goooot to focussss, it is so important that ur mind dosent drift away to some other world, because then u lose the flow of it and get nevous. soooo anyways, good luck!

i am sorry to tell you, but there's really no way to be able to stop being nervous. the only thing you can do is force yourself to slow down. also, don't look at the people in the crowd, look into a far corner above their heads. it helps me concentrate, and if someone is distracting in the crowd, it's not gonna affect you, and also, that makes you look more confident. i wish you the best of luck on stage! remember that everyone is going to enjoy watching you, so don't worry what they will think of you.

First, DON'T imagine the audience naked. That is distracting and could be SCARY! The first thing to do is to just remember to breathe. When you don't, your brain doesn't get enough oxygen and that makes everything worse.

I heard that more than one actor uses the method of imagining that the audience is naked. I am not sure how that would put you at ease, but they say it works. Break A Leg!!!!
