Definitely get the manicure and pedicure, but I'd also recommend a massage! Now if time or budget are a concern for you ask if the spa offers a Chair Massage. It's a nice introduction to the spa for first timers. Takes about 15 minutes, costs about $15-$20, and doesn't require undressing. If you've got the time and the money though, definitely take an hour massage Swedish Massage. You'll be glad you did! As a general rule of thumb for massages you'll pay about a dollar a minute plus $5-$20 depending on the location and class of the spa and any specialty products or treatments included in the massage. Most of all, relax and enjoy yourself! A spa day is not just about the treatments but about total relaxation!

I work in a spa, and both manicures and pedicures take approximately hour each., both offer massage (pedicure - massage up to just below the knee, manicure- massage up to just below the elbow..... so make sure you wear loose fitting clothes) our pedicure takes place in a whirlpool tub attached to an intense massaging chair, so with a pedi. you get the body massage too. Have a great time and RELAX, you will enjoy anything you decide on.

manicure/pedicure is good, and a massage is always great, I would suggest staying away from a facial, many people enjoy them and while they are good for you they usually result in a acne breakout or dry skin in the short term so unless you want to look bad in all your holiday photos avoid it this time.

Take a shower before you go in the bath, just soak, manicures and pedicures are for the beauty parlour, not the onsen

See if the spa has package specials. One of the best local spas has a special room for their package purchasers where they are waited on between treatments, given a plush robe, served lunch, and treated to a cozy fireplace.

My wife is an esthetician. You should seriously consider a facial. It is never too young to get into a good skin care regimen. There are wonderful anti-aging products on the market now, but in reality they work better at preventing skin damage than reversing it.

Pedicures last longer. Oh if they have it you should try a mud bath.
