Yes I have.

I was in a parking lot at Walmart and, god forbid, someone's IRS tax return check - still in the envelope! - was on the ground. The address was nearby, so I drove over to it. No one was home and I wasn't looking for accolades anyways - just thought it'd be a hell of a cool thing for them to come home and find the check they thought had been lost who-knows-where stuck right to their door. :)

I don't know if they were nice people, but I'm sure they thought nicely of the unknown stranger who was kind to them. ;)

Absolutely. If you have the resources and the inspiration at the right time, then do it! It just makes you feel good and leaves the other person just wondering in amazement as to just why someone did that for them... I think it's great, so yes, I want to do stuff like that all of the time.

Yes my ex's dad was pretty sick (he had liver cancer) when we first started dating. Lets just say her parents didn't really welcome me with arms wide open lol. Her family were going through some financial difficulties, because they were paying for her dad treatment. We later broke up but still remained good friends, her dad passed away a month later. They couldn't afford a funeral they wanted to give him, so i approached her Mum and me and my family paid for the funeral and wake, under the condition that my ex never found out. She still doesn't know and thinks her dads family paid for it.
It doesn't matter how he treated me i couldn't stand back and watch her family struggle and feel that they didnt give him off a send off that he deserved, It gave them a little bit of happiness in such a tough and sad time for them : )

Something I do very often, and have for years, and not always for someone I knew or that was knowingly nice.
Simply they were in need and I was a bit better off,or atleast I was in a position to assist them.

That's the only way to help someone and be "honest" about your reasons. Its the best way to feel good about yourself, at least for me.
