it is not a matter of hurting his eyes, he will be better watching you doing things around the house, or play some music also is better, there is a lot of time to watch tv when he grows up. There is no interaction with TV, they watch like they are hypnotized, i wouldn.t let the baby watch until he is a toddler and even then , very little.

Television is bad for your infant. There is a lot going on for them on the television and it is overstimulating for their brains. All of the bright colors and the constant change of noises is bad for them. It is as if their mind is working too hard to keep up. If the baby sits far back from the tv it won't hurt her eyes, but I did read about how it is bad for baby's minds due to overstimulation.

I was taught in Early childhood education that stimulation is good for a baby. Colorful objects and music or talking. Just don't put the baby right in front of the t.v. Even if u sit yourself in front of a t.v too close it will hurt your eyes.I always talked to my son when he was a baby and he spoke small sentences at 15 months old.

It won't really hurt his eyes, but it is proven that TV is bad for baby's learning development. Put on some music and try some hanging toys, instead.

im going to tell based on my own experience , as a kid i watch tv all afternoons for 3 hours (cartoons) very close to the screen, now i need to use eyeglasess. also as time goes by watching tv you became more dizzy and maybe develop headaches. it is ok but only for maybe 45 minutes and at safe distance from the baby.

How old is he? My brother watches tv but not for long (doesnt hold his attention) and he is fine. If he/she is like a newborn to three months dont try it unless you know its okay. Instead try a different form of entertainment like music, toys, bouncer, etc.

No, just make sure you place him a safe distance from the tv. Sitting too close to the tv is bad for you no matter what your age is.
