How can you explain that some people no matter how hard they work, they can never seem to get anywhere in life, even though, they may be well educated. Is it to do with personality? Or simply, as my friend says: you have to be a ***** if you want to be rich.
Does caring for others peoples feelings ever prevented you from achieving your dreams? Or is it simply just a case of bad luck??
What do you think?

I totally believe some people are luckier than others, also things like looks, talent, and money aren't distributed evenly or fairly. Yes, I think caring for other's feelings often does prevent us from what we would think of as "success". But not everyone has the personality to be so agressive and walk on people. You're right, hard work and education doesn't always achieve the results we expect.

In a way I do think some people are luckier than others, but only because they have faith and I really believe that the universe is a mirror of our beliefs. If you want to change your luck I believe you have to change your beliefs and expectations... but that is not an easy thing to do if you have had bad experiences. The bad experiences stuff up your confidence and faith becomes doubt and the universe reflects the doubt back. It is really interesting though that some people can go thru the most tragic of circumstances only to get back on that horse and become more successful than ever. Maybe some of us are naturally more optimistic and therefore luckier!

I think those people that think that they are luckier than others just see the brighter side of life! Just because some people are richer or wiser doesn't mean that they are luckier, they might see it as baggage. It's all in the eye of the beholder. You can be enriched with all the positives in your life if you look for them, but if you look at every thing you want in somebody Else's life than you will only see what you don't have. Try looking at what you already have and be thankful for everything that makes you smile. You might be surprised how much you have accomplished throughout your life so far.

luck has a lot of to do with this. The comment is true being a ***** does help but doesn't get you as far as you need. Remember Omarossa from the apprentice? she was a *****, she got pretty far yet she didn't win. Caring for people doesn't stop you from achieving your dreams however let people step on you will

Not sure.

However, I do believe that some people self sabotage because either consciously or subconsciously they don't think they are good enough to succeed. I think you can still be a good person and get ahead in life. People need to be firm and direct.

I don't think people need to be a bi*ch to get ahead and squash people along the way.

Yes, luck has a lot to do with it. And by the way, your 'friend' is a misinformed moron and probably has taken that position due to nothing more than jealousy.
