1. Acne:
More than 30 percent of newborns develop baby acne of the face -- mainly small red bumps. This baby acne begins at 3 to 5 weeks of age and lasts until 4 to 6 months of age. The cause appears to be the transfer of maternal hormones just prior to birth. Since it is temporary, no treatment is necessary. Baby oil or ointments make it worse.
2. Drooling Rash:
Many babies have a rash on the chin or cheeks that comes and goes. This is often due to contact with food and acid that has been spit up from the stomach (especially prolonged contact during sleep). Other temporary rashes on the face are heat rashes in areas held against the mother's skin during nursing (especially in the summertime.)
Advice: Rinse the face with water after all feedings or spitting up. During hot weather, change the baby's position more frequently and put a cool washcloth on the area.

oh hay that's no worry at all! its known as milk spots or baby acne.its mainly caused because the baby isn't drinking enough water.that's why its so common because not many people think of giving a baby water, its all milk.which is why they are called milk spots. if you keep the babies face clean and give them only 1 cup of water that's all it takes it will clear up in about 2 weeks. congrats on the new baby tho!

normal. all babies have these. wash her face GENTLY with a warm washcloth of just water for a few days and they will go away. It's baby acne and it will come back if you don't keep her face washed.

well , when my little cousin was born, she had a lot of little numbs on her face and the DR. said it was because so she was allergic to her own sweat... but ask your Doctor and he should tell you all about it.
