whenever i try to edit my buddy info on aim, my friend's and my computers get frozen. is there a way to fix this? if so, please help me!!

i know i could reinstall.. but i dont want to because it took me FOREVER to get aim downloaded. is there a SIMPLER way?? other than reinstalling?

Sounds like you have a dial up connection, set your status to away so you don't receive any IM's and then try to update your buddy list.
If you downloaded aim then you have the install package on your computer ( that is what you downloaded ) re-installing it would only take a few minutes

reinstall the program? obviously its having issues.. try doing it at someone elses PC see if same thing happens..
