I really need those little beads..seed beads I guess. I got this idea from Sephora. A good idea to organize my makeup brushes is to fill up a jar half full of those seed beads and then stick my brushes in there. It's perfect.

daisymd, if you have nothing to do with those beads, put them to good use and use them for your makeup brushes and liners!

"Seed beads" are actually beads so they do have holes.

If you're looking for something smaller though, there are tiny glass balls that don't have holes, which come in various sizes (and colors, etc.) though they'll cost more in general.
They're called holeless beads or microbeads... some brands are Beedz, Beadlets, Micro Marbles, etc.)... here's one brand:

Since they wouldn't need to have holes for this use, you might find other tiny, "particle" things that would work in the same way, though would probably need to have some weight to them. Very few of any of these things are actually as small as grains of sand though. Some industrial products might be. Larger bits might work better though... just think what would happen if some of the tiny ones spilled!

You might also want to consider sand or colored play sand, aquarium gravel in colors or natural, etc.

Those small beads are called seed beads. You can buy them on EBay pretty cheap or go to your local Hobby Lobby. I believe they are on sale for 50% off this week. If you are stringing them, make sure to have thin gauge string.
