The Acura is going to get better mileage. ALOT better mileage. You should be pushing the mid 30's with the Acura and the Jeep will probably net in the high teens to mid 20's range.

I will have to admit that I was rather incredulous. The Acura will get about 50% better mileage than the Jeep. According to the EPA the Jeep will get 20-22 mpg and the RSX will get 31- 34 mpg. Only the RSX Type S uses premium gas.

I have driven both of these vehicles. The RSX is the nicest little car you will ever find, regardless of the terrain. If the dealer had not tried to cheat me, I would have bought a new Type S. The Jeep is a very competent multi-use vehicle. Unless you are traveling in snowy weather or with more than one other person, the Acura is clearly superior.

I am definitly a jeep person but I would have to say the acura for daily driving but not for a trip to mississippi. It all depends on driving habbits and terrain. Also you have to take into acount all the mountain driving you are going to have to do. I am asuming that the jeep is a straight six, and awesome motor; still the original willys jeep block, and can get incredible low end torque which would be good for the steep slopes. That acura will make it but be in second gear the whole time, rapping out at 3000 rpm saying "I think I can I think I can and you will lose much of your good gas milage. I say your best bet is the cherokee
