I see people online who claim to be in "clans."

Does anyone know how to do it?

well you can either join or create a clan at www.gearsofwartournaments.com/forum/

If you are a good player there is a lot of clans there that wouldn't mind having you :D

There are clans in Rainbow Six and other games, but not Gears of War.

Clans are like a squad you belong to.
