A Macintosh, or Mac is made by Apple, and other computers have Microsoft Windows operating system, as in Microsoft XP. They are basically in competition with each other. There are more programs available for Microsoft, not as much for Macintosh. The good thing about Macintosh, is that there are no viruses that will harm them. Most email viruses and worms are made for the Microsoft operating systems, so in that sense, you should be safe buying a Mac. Also, iTunes are made by Apple, so are iPods. Best of luck to you.

Uh, speaking of idiots Keith, do your research before you answer...Macs ARE made with Intel now.
I've had a Mac for 6 years and will never, ever go back to PC. I've never had a virus, a crash, nothing. Soooooo much easier to use. And aesthetically speaking they are more pleasing on the eye.

Macs are easier to use, more secure, and now that they have Intel chips, can even run Windows software. I love Macs!!!

Macs can NEVER get viruses. never ever. because they dont support the type that viruses come in. macs are also better because they are more simpler and they look a hell lot better too.
