Several times over. I was a tomboy as a kid. Fell out of lots of trees. Jumped off the roof into a snowpile. (it didn't hold) Fell off the top of the jungle gym at the playground. (broken bones) Fell out of a moving truck and rolled under a moving car. Childbirth almost killed me and my child. It's been a near miss quite often. It's calmed down quite a bit since I became a mother. Now I practically kill myself trying to prevent the kid from killing himself! It's an exciting existence. I manage.

i choked on a hot dog when i was 8. it was so scary. i couldn't breathe. i ran into the kitchen and washed it down with orange juice. years later in cpr class i asked the rn if someone was choking if u should just give them something to drink and it will help, the nurse said no u should never do that and it actually makes things worse. she had no explanation as to why the juice helped me get the hot dog out of my throat. maybe some devine being saved me.

3 days ago i was crossing the street while the lights were red. one car was trying to bang a right and didn't see me and almost hit but she stopped on time and i jumped back. my heart was in my throat.

Hm, he. Actually yes. Once I was hiking in California, and it was my first time in there, so I was pretty much unaware of anything. So, it was me walking down the trail, with my wife several feet behind when all of a sudden I heard that hissing rattle right under my feet. Actually, the moment I heard it I was already jumping back, or may be the jump started a split second before I heard the rattle. Well, and there it was, quite a nice rattle snake, curled right in the middle of the path, enjoying himself. And I nearly stepped on it. Kind of no fun, but fun anyway.

I had 2 death-related dreams. They're as 'real' to me then as they are now. I had the dreams in 2 separate times in the last 5 yrs.

I was in a gurney in one, being wheeled into an operating room. People surrounding me were people whom I've come to 'know' over the years who really care about me. There were many faces. I felt awe, a fear that I may die in the operation, yet, I was calmed by the faces.

I was buried 6 ft under in the other dream. It felt very real. I even thought to myself, to scream, to inform the people who buried me that I was still alive! I felt the walls, the tiny space around me in the coffin, I was feeling afraid, and I really thought they have made a mistake. I woke up when the fear took the better of me!

I have not yet died a real death, even though this is something I have thought about in a rational way from time to time. Sometimes I get real scared, at other times, I feel a peace at my own death. Even if there were still many things I wanted to do in my life, I did not rationalise I would miss it, if I died.

The first dream was about me growing up from my immaturity. Even as a middle age adult, I feel vulnerable, at the same time empowered. There are many signs demonstrated to me that God will care for me in a real way. Not just lip service only. He is real, He exists!

Dying to myself, God will redeem the parts of my life that's missing. I yearn and desire that He fulfil them shortly. This is prob as close as I got to a near-death situation.
