My boyfriends family freaked when they found out we were together. His parents are divorced. His dad told him that he was gonna kill him then attacked him because of it, and his mom threatened to send him to juvinille. I just wanna know if this is a normal reaction>?

Wow, I hope it isn't a normal reaction. I wouldn't react that way if my child wanted to date/marry interracially.

My brother is in an interracial marriage with children. My mother had no problem with it. It took my father a year to adjust. I love my sister-in-law like a friend and sister. I think the most problems has come from my brother dealing with how non-family members look at his new family. It has to do more with knowing that society is cruel no matter if your nieces and nephews are interracial or MR. They will stare at them because they are different. People are scared of difference and change. When I look at them I see love, compassion, dedication, and a family. I know you wanted a parent's view but I wanted to let you know a sister's view.
-Have you ever been in love with someone and your parent(s) asked you want you seen in that boy?? Think about it. Love is very mysterious and wonderful.-

Love your child independent of their decision. You may end up really liking the person, so don't let race stand in the way. Get to know him/her as a human.

After reading your additional details - you have to know that was not a normal reaction. How does your boyfriend feel? Are you still together? Is he willing to continue without the support of his family? I feel for you both and wish you the best.

What does it matter with what color the person your child may me dating? If that partner is treating your child with love, dignity and respect, then, what is your problem?
You want your child to be miserable with a person who is the same color as they are or someone who is not and is treating them and giving them all the love and respect that they deserve?
There are other things to worry about. If this person is beating or mistreating or doing something like this to your child, then, no matter what color they were, they need their a'ss kicked.
Other then that, life is too short.
