I've been an avid reader all my life - and I'm 34 years old. My first book (that I can remember) was the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe (it was my sister's). I've been devouring books ever since, mostly horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and some fantasy/comedy.
Most people looked shocked when I say I can read an average novel in 2-3 days. But I'll go without sleep to finish a Harry Potter book in one day...
And when it comes to my books, I have boxes upon boxes - roughly 5 or 600 at last count. Plus books on the dining room table, the fridge, the freezer, out on the patio, in the bedroom....
And I will admit that reading led to me wearing glasses. BUT NOT for the reasons most think - I used to read books at night when I was younger and supposed to be asleep by flashlight under the covers - until the batteries were DRAINED... and then I'd swap them around, get a couple more minutes, and then go to sleep....

I was even more so as a child. I started reading before kindergarten, and I also got glasses very early because I found that I sometimes had trouble reading. Until about eighth grade, I often completely tuned out the world while I was reading. I wouldn't hear anything.
I don't read as much now, but if you count reading webpages... It's about the same. I also write a lot more using the Internet. I just don't seem to have as much time in high school. (Of course, it doesn't stop me from buying more and more books to add to the stack in my room; my two six-foot bookshelves are already full.)

I happened upon the literary world at the age of 13 when I was stuck in the mountains with nothing else to do. It was a revelation! I've been a happy reader ever since.

whilst an author takes an outstanding seem upon the angst of their character and abuses it to dying. Characters like that have a tendency to only be a reflection of the author himself/herself, and it basically does not be able to squeeze any thoughts out of me besides a grin and giggle. I advise, the grief pushed onto a properly-built character could make for some relatively great paintings, incredibly whether that's finished with humorous stride and the author never pushes the ambience and as a substitute we could it subtly build. This undertaking is extremely obvious with maximum teenage females or boys who attempt too no longer ordinary to be edgy, incredibly if the drama is self-inflicted, which regularly has a tendency to be what those maximum suitable writers have performed of their certainly lives. no longer that having an author avatar is inherently undesirable, yet no one cares for a pseudo-psychological whiner who believes their loss of Pocky and their fake-punk kind no longer being respected is an eternal conflict. I even have undertaking with people who needless to say attempt to sound clever yet do no longer care to envision for accuracy in any respect; in case you prefer to be taken heavily with your formal writing then you definately could desire to in all probability a minimum of attempt to spell verify or verify that the form of maximum sentences interior the piece do no longer seem too awkward. kind is likewise relatively substantial whilst it incorporates writing an enticing or high quality tale, and that i easily does not call being formal stylistic. i comprehend that this replaced into extra so a rant approximately familiar writing than books, yet i'm hoping you do no longer suggestions. various this crap seems in even the main properly-time-honored of fiction and that i'm helpful that i'm no longer on my own on those lawsuits.
