Good grades are important because they allow you to achieve succes, which means it will allow you to goto a good college, get a good job after graduation, raise a family without many problems based on money, and the ability to retire, and not worry about your sons/daughters.

Out whole society is based upon how well you do in school.
Good grades lead to a good college, which leads to a good job and money. Money is power. So, yes, grades are important unless you are born into a millionaire family.

Grades give students the rating for their excellence in studies, also promote competence among them, so in some sense grading is accepted everywhere to this reason i think

yes, because they promote students to achieve success. Students need to see that their work is paying off. Also, it can act as a way to promote friendly competition when it comes to being successful. Furthermore, grades are a way to judge the work of the teacher as well as the student.
