Yea, I agree, if you don't want to take the man's last name then why the heck marry him?

Woah, who spilled estrogen on your bowling balls buddy. In some cultures the family name is passed on down the maternal line and in some other both names pass on and yet in some others there are no family names. Chill out I'm sure whatever woman you beat over the head and drag back to Bedrock she'll want to take your name so don't worry about everybody else, k?

my mom was widowed, and when she remarried, she hyphenated her last name...kept my dad's name and added my step-dad's name...because she had had my dad's last name over 30 years. has nothing to do with being a feminist or a lesbian. what's the matter, your girlfriend dump you or something? or have you always been a chauvinist pig? I AM a lesbian, and, since we are attracted to women, that means we wouldn't marry men anyway....now go to the kitchen and nuke your Spaghetti-O's, loser!

people during the middle ages often did that. They'd add up to four or five names, and drop off the oldest one each time.
btw, my parents hypenated their last names, and my mom is NOT a feminist.

HA HA HA! Gotta love angry men, LOL! For the record, not all women who keep their maiden names are lesbians, lol, and not all women who take their husband's names "make dinner", LOL, get your facts straight! ;)

P.S. Also, please do take note of what Lisa R. said, "A lesbian wouldn't marry a man- so the question is moot."

like I said, get your facts straight silly rabbit!

Well, it's just a personal decision. I plan to take my future husband's name and relinquish my maiden name. Some women choose not to do that and it's okay.
