Yep... a sweater shaver will do the trick. Sometimes fabrics will "pill up" with wear and multiple washings. Any department store should sell them for relatively cheap.

I agree, they make your clothes look so yukky. My mom taught me to use a disposable razor and to be careful not to knick the fabric. Knits are a little harder, but will work if you move the razor slowly. This also helps prevent the majority of the 'balls' from returning because your actually also cutting the fuzz off too and will help prevent the lint from sticking to it.

The lint romovers like a roll or the machines do not always work so I take a piece of duct tape and do it that way! the other thing is that it happens with sweaters so I hang them to dry and wash separtely....

Well, I don't know how to get rid of them but I know how to prevent getting them on your clothes. I wash all my sweaters and jerseys in pillow cases with zippers. You throw them in the pillow case, 2 or 3 in each, zip them up and toss them in the washer. The clothes never get balled up and last forever. But I take them out of the pillow cases before I dry them. Infact, my daughter's wanted some too, so I made them each 3 zippered pillow cases for their clothes for Christmas, too. lol
