CISCO: ya 1982 was awesome, we did defeat the Brazilians and then the West Germans. I suppose it provided more excitement in those well played games. - not the side show with a lousy Zidane penalty kick he clearly did not deserve, the infamous headbutt and then having the final to be decided in a shoot out.

nah..i think the '82 wc has the edge,the '06 had the french which was a downer not to mention zidane's insane acts on the field which a lot of ppl think degraded the game...zidane single handedly degraded the game of football. as for 2010 those big shoes WILL BE FILLED...Italy has lots of talent.ITALY IS A CLASS ACT!!! DON'T FORGET THAT...PAESANO

awesome not that this one wasn't, the best part was Zidane's headbutt big time humiliation for the French!

yeah, 1982 comes pretty close to this year (even though i wasnt born yet, LOL, from what other people say); but its not AS good as this year. :)
*but i didnt like the humiliated zidane part, lol.
i know, i feel bad for the future team, theyre gonna be really pressured to be as good as this azzurri<3
i wish this one would never change. :( lol, but whatever. i bet the next team will be good too... but i doubt they'd be as goodlooking. :D lol

Yes it has been a very good year, especially for soccer and ya the 2010 squad does have some big shoes to fill but i have faith :)

both were years where domestic Italian football was dealing with scandal. i dont know.. maybe get into another match-fixing scandal and italy will win the wc in 2010
