I tell you I had the same problem. I hated tampons and I wasn't a virgin, they just hurt. So, the pads they make are useless to me, they don't absorb, they let you stain all your clothes and break through in class. My mom bought me a huge pack of cheap, sort of thin white washcloths and I used them. I swear they work so well. Just fold them in three and they stay in place and they absorb and they are great for heavy periods. So, I always had them with me. Even if I wore a pad on light days I would use the cloths during the bad ones and at night. I would just use a small bowl with a lid with bleach and water and put them in it and then wash them with whites when I did laundry and kept them just for me. So, it may work for you too. Good luck.

First, do not use toilet paper. It is not made for that. I understand how you feel, I went through the same thing. The best advice is to try different things until you find what works best for you. Here is what I have found out along the way, and I hope it is some use to you.
Tampons should not hurt, even if you are a virgin. Usually, pain is casued by incorrect usage. The most common error is using a size too large for your flow. I used my mom's tampons when I first got my period and they were way too much for me and they hurt like hell. Secondly, check the package instructions to make sure you are inserting the tampon correctly. I know it seems idiot proof, but it isn't. It needs to go into your body at a certain angle in order for it to sit and obsorb properly.
If that still doesn't work, try a night time pad. Those tend to be a little bulkier, but they don't bunch as much. Or look into Stayfree Advanced Protection line. I used to use those and I found them to be a very good product.
One more things you could look into is called Instead. This is what I currently use and I have come to swear by it. It is a flexible plastic ring with a cup designed to catch your flow. It sits very comfortably. You can find more about it on their website.

No, use panty liners if you are light flow. Tampons should not hurt whether you are a virgin or not - I wore tampons for almost three years (they were virgin years too) but I was already a teenager too. You should get the smallest tampon to match your flow. Don't use a regular if you need a slender - that will be uncomfortable.
For pads you can use "Always" brand they seem to be pretty thin. Like I said use a panty liner if you bleed really light.
Good luck and take some midol.

Unless you plan on changing it every 10 minutes toilet paper won't work- it's designed to disenegrate when it gets wet. It's possible that you aren't putting the tampons in properly. When I first started using them I hurt a lot. As for pads they are going to bunch somewhat you should try kotex if you haven't already. Talk to your doctor about using tampons though you will be probably be happier with them in the long run.

No, you shouldn't use toilet paper because it is not heavy/thick enough to absorb your flow. Sometimes if you dont push a tampon in far enough it can be uncomfortable. It takes a little while to get used to it, but after you start using them regularly you get used to it. If tampons still bother you, ask your doctor about it. They can tell you if you have a allergic reaction or not.

I used to have the same problems, even after I had kids I could n't use tampons because of cramping, My dr said it was because I had a tipped uterus.
By accident, I found the bigger pads to be the most comfotable and least likey to cause me worry about leaking. It was after the birth of my first child when I had to use those thick pads because the discharge after giving birth was quite heavy.
One day, as I was changing my daughters cloth diapers, I got an idea to try a home made pad made from one of her soft cloth diapers. After all, one can wash ,sanitzs and re use those no matter WHAT was deposited on them, right? right!
Eventually i sewed different thicknesses into old panties, to fit my shape and the amont of flow, I used these "homemade " pads over 30 years, making "new" ones as the old ones wore out. I kept a sani pail ( an old diaper pail ) and washed as I would have soiled diapers.
I didn't "need " to do this, but it worked great for me

Probably not a good idea as pads are specifically designed for periods and toilet paper is not.
You just have to try out a lot of different things (meaning different types of pads since tampons don't work for you)
Hope this helps,
Deirdre

you are probably having allergic reaction to tampons, due to perfume and etc.
buy pads without perfumes, and dyes, toilet paper will wad inside of you and pain to come out.
change your pads at least every 2 hours due to the bulkness of the pad. wings work well, but you have to keep changing, and use diaper wipes for cleansing yourself for clumpness.
hopes this helps some.

I had your concern and went on start manipulate. It now not handiest made my interval substantially lighter, it additionally took away a exceptional deal of my belly cramps. Plus, I regularly knew to the day whilst my interval used to be going to begin. There are dangers with start manipulate, as there are with any drug. But until you're a heavy smoker (if you're clever ample to grasp that at 15 you don't seem to be competent for intercourse I KNOW you're clever ample to avoid medicinal drugs, alcohol, and cigs!) the hazards don't seem to be that exceptional. Smoking makes you much more likely to get blood clots and raises your danger of different facet results as good. A lot of men and women take start manipulate who aren't sexually energetic. I feel you will have to talk about it along with your mother/aunt/depended on female family member and supply it a shot. It is valued at it not to need to preserve your breath whenever you rise up considering the fact that you're afraid you're going to gush by way of your tampon AND pad!

Not a good idea. You need to get a sanitary belt that should keep the pad from bunching up .
