I can barely hear it, just barely, at full blast volume. when i try to go in and switch the audio settings on the ps3 , there is an erroe message as well. but the video part works just dandy.....confused....................

I'm not sure what HDMI handles for you, are you sure PS3 doesn't require a separate digital audio (coax or optical) cable to your stereo?

Hdmi is for 1080p. Most projection tvs only give you 1080i as a max res, for that you can use component cables. The red, blue, green wires, will cover everything except 1080p.

PS3s, like all new PlayStation consoles, are full of bugs. If you had sought advice earlier, I would have advised you against purchasing one, or at least waiting for Sony to fix more of the bugs. A patch that can be downloaded for free will probably become available or is already available.
