First I do not think Yul is so smart; he is sneaky. Basically, Yul has spent all of his life practicing how to get over on others. That is a con. He comes off as a master of trivia which comes in handy for chit chat not much else.

Yul does not think before he says things when he is on the spot or excited. On the boat when they were dropping the cannonballs, who was the idiot that shouted, "Hey it works if you drop it directly over the target!" To which Ozzy told him to keep it down. He almost gave it away to the other team. Good thing they ignored him and should, Yul is full of hot air. Have some control Yul! He is so uncool, so impulsive. What a knuckle head.

The other thing he does is he over analyzes something to the point that contradicts the use of reason in the first place. He cannot think on his feet as a result of it and misses a lot of social and environmental cues because of it. His social timing is off and the comments he makes are not that of a person he thinks himself to be. What did he say about working with people in social situations? I do not remember the exact words but he is a presumptive dork.

Ozzy, on the other hand, showed great mental flexibilty, being able to figure out alternative approaches to anything whether it was a response to someone's query or executing a physical move.

Yul seldom got the puzzles. And was that about trying to undo stereotypes -- what in the world does he mean?? He came off as a sneaky, manipulative and cutthroat person that I have often felt typifies the oriental stereotype. He is also full of himself. Note, that I said "typifies the stereotype" and we all know what stereotypes are.

Yul may have a head full of facts and figures but what I observed is that Yul spends a lot of time talking about the trivia he memorizes and Ozzy spends time applying his knowledge. I bet that if Ozzy had the same amount of crystallized knowledge that Yul has had the opportunity to be exposed to, Ozzy could do far more with it. A genius does more with less; an idiot does less with more.

Additionally, those that were taken with what they thought was Yul's intelligence were just as incapable of discriminating what it is. I think that those that voted for Yul probably wanted to feel that they had been duped by the smart guy rather than the one that did not have a formal education. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Ozzy had said he had the Ivy league education and credentials and the team thought that Yul was the blue collar worker. I know that they would have thought differently and Ozzy's moves would have been more valued. Too often human judgement is clouded by arbritrary measures of worth.

One movie that illustrates this is "Being There". Watch for the correlation. Old movie but interesting idea that shows what was happening here.

I wanted him to win but it was SO close between him and Yul...and it could have gone either way (and it went the other way haha). I was pulling for Ozzy, however, I'm not upset that Yul won either. He played such a great strategical game and I think he's one of the first Survivors to actually do that and win so props to him! But then you have Ozzy on the other hand, where he played one of the best physical games out there! It was so hard to pick between the two and as Jeff said, they both deserved it and this was probably the only season where both were deserving and the votes were as close as they were. Becky, however, shouldn't have made it as far as she did and she definitely didn't deserve final 3. Yul and Ozzy were great competitors. I'm not surprised at the vote at the end. It was a great season!!!

I tend to agree with you that Ossy should have won, but Survivor is about surviving the 'elements' out playing and outlasting your opponents, as well as being conniving, lying, cheating etc whatever you need to do to win the game. At least that's the way the players have played in the past anyway. Physically Ozzy should have won. He was the fastest, most agilest player out there this time. As well as being smart and strategic.
Yul on the other hand was strong and fast but his best was using his mind to think and 'plot'. He won I believe because he used more brain strategy than brawn strategy.
My opinion is if they were really stranded on a deserted island who would be able to survive on their own Yul or Ozzy? I say Ozzy hands down because he could do it all. But that is not this game is it?
I also believe that the crying bit was a little staged but then again Ozzy could very well have meant it ----who's to know. Only Ozzy.

I'm glad that Yul won, however, if Ozzy hadn't been able to win all those challenges for his tribe, then Yul never would have gotten the chance to even be the "godfather" at all.

So, in a sense, it was really Ozzy that gave Yul his power. Otherwise, he could easily have been voted off, or even the members of his alliance, in which he'd lose numbers and therefore power. So in that respect, yes, Ozzy probably deserved to win.

Yul sux he didn't think he deserves it. Ozzy should have won. if you think about it yul has a college education, that other chineese person has a college degree but Ozzy doesn't because he's paying for it by himself from working as a waiter. So Ozzy needed to win

Yes, I think Ozzy deserved to win... however to the person who answered saying Yul didn't need it cause all Chinese people have college educations...Yul is Korean, and that was a rather stereotypical image you depicted. Know the facts before you open your mouth!

I wanted Ozzy to win so bad. Although I wasn't upset that Yul won because he did play a great game. I thought it was really funny during the last tribal counsel that they never directed any questions to Becky.

i presumed the extra suitable guy gained. yuletide stated how Ozzie being so athletic took a great variety of the concentration off of him yet Ozzie neglected the reality that yuletide asserting he had the idol so early interior the competition took very much of concentration off him. human beings would have teamed against him interior the competitions and did not. i don't think of that Ozzie could have any concern going to college on the money he earned for 2d place. i think of Yul can do extra with the million funds perfect now. I additionally think of Yul did not something to experience embarrassment approximately such as attempting to sway the jury and throwing away the clues that the idol became got here upon. It became a stable win.

i think that they were both good but in the opposite ways. Yule dominated the "outwit" part. He orchestrated everything in order to save himself and his alliance. ozzy dominated the "outplay" part. I've never seen anyone be such a physical survivor..it was truly stunning to watch him at challenges..i mean how does he do it? he really is part animal! I also loved ozzy because he was just so darn cute! So yeah, i was rooting for him to win!
