Jupiter is gas giant. The biggest one in our solar system, next to Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. As the name already says, it is very very big. Because it is so big, it is very heavy (has a lot of mass). It is 2.5 times heavier then the total weight of all other planets in our solar system together. That means a lot of gravity: it would crush before you even reach it's atmosphere. Also, it is made of gas. Mostly hydrogen and helium, almost nothing else. So no 'air' to breath, no water to drink, etc. Actually it is mostly made from the same stuff as the sun. If it would have been (slightly) bigger, Jupiter would have been a star instead of a planet. Currently, scientist are still debating whether Jupiter is a very large planet or a very small star (a small brown dwarf) that has been unfortunate enough not start nuclear fusion (the burning of a star).

This sounds like a question from an English Lit or Debate class. Going from that angle, There are no bugs on Jupiter, and cold weather kills pesky mosquitos

Jupiter is mostly gaseous. You could only fly there. But given the size of Jupiter the gravity will be overwhelming.
I think only some of the moons of Jupiter would be suitable for exploration or eventually some base.

It's believed that Jupiter lacks a solid surface. Also the atmosheric pressure would crush you.

Someone should live on Jupiter because they are suicidal. There are no other reasons.
