s = 0 = ut + 1/2 g t^2 => t = 0, -2u/g. So with u = 30 m/s, g = -9.81 m/s^2 we gt t = 60/9.81 = 6.1 seconds.

Using v=u+at,
0=30-9.81t
t=3.06 s to reach maximum height
So to get back to the ground will take another 3.06 s.
Total time will be 6.12 seconds
