you really cant, one of the major things in the dynamics of a "drift" is the power must be supplied from the rear wheel. if your going around a curve and you break traction in the rear with a front wheel drive car you have a high risk of loosing it all together, and this is more like taking a kid by the wrist and spinning him around, it will not give you any speed advantage. the whole things works because the back wheels have two different forces working on them, and travels in a third because the front wheels are being somewhat like a rutter, if you understand that.
you cant do it in reverse because the front wheels are the only ones that turn, and that blows the whole idea , and if you keep them straight you ll never go into a curve.

Well you can really only 'drift' in rear wheel drive cars. Like some other people said, you can pull the e-brake and turn hard in one direction, thats one option. Another option (and Im being serious) is to go to a fast food place and take a couple food trays, go to a big empty parking lot, and place one under each rear tire. Then pull the e-brake, drive around, turn hard and do some donuts. Its pretty fun actually. We did that to my moms Kia Optima but now I have a rear wheel drive car that can actually drift. The tray sliding way is good if you have some friends with you to help adjust the trays and whatnot. If you want to go hardcore with it, use cookie sheets and you will get some sparks too!
