I think the Queen has kept her age very well. But she's also a liar. (Look at what happened to Diana) Her husband has become an ugly SOB.
Her sons..... well, lets not talk about them, shall we? Especially Charles. (Ugh, *shudder*)
Her grandsons... well, William, I hope he will be king, not his father, when the Queen gives up the throne. And Harry? Well he doesn't deserve a mention as far as I'm concerned.

I think the British Royals are among the best examples of royal houses. I am a big Anglophile, and I think there should always be a monarch on the Brit throne,
As far as Prince William getting married right now, I think everyone should just let him be. He's made the decision not to get married right now and everyone should
respect that, He saw what his parents went through and he's making the best path he knows how. He and Kate are still young and they're doing what they want right now.
Who knows, in three to five years, there just might be a royal wedding.

As far as the line of succession skipping
Charles and going straight to William
is absolutely proposturous. There's a reason why there is a line of succession and despite whatever the Prince of Wales has done in the past, the simple fact is the it is his birthright to ascend the throne.

When the time comes, William will get
his chance to be king I disagree with the writer who said William is acting like a commoner. He is just trying to find where he fits in the world, the only difference between him and the typical 24 yr old male or female is that he's finding his path while the world is watching his every move. Same goes for Harry.
And as far as Camilla attending the memorial for Diana, by gones should be by gones, it's been almost ten years since Diana's tragic passing and what happened in the past between the three of them should stay there. It's not as if Camilla's being there is a one uppence in saying that she finally got Charles. Her presence should be as a member of the royal family
and also being there as part of a support system for her step-sons.

And anyone thinking that Charles should abdicate in favor of William, that will never happen. Though monarchs abdicating in favor of their children has been done in other royal houses { notably the Dutch and Luxembourg houses}, the English still have strong feelings toward a monarch abdicating. It has been said over the years, that Edward VIII's abdication
nearly ended the monarchy, And if it hadn't been for the Queen's father, the British Monarchy wouldn've survived.

The Royal Family bring in countless millions to this country from tourism, regardless of what some may think. As for being leeches, well the Family as a whole costs each taxpayer around 65 pence a year...hardly a fortune is it compared to what they bring in and give back to the country in taxes....just think how much our cost of living would escalate to if they didn't bring in that money and pay their own taxes. Many will dispute this fact, but I really don't care.

For her disgraceful conduct throughout Diana and Charle's marriage, Camilla should have more respect and stay the hell away from Diana's memorial service....she has no right to be there.

As for a republic with a President Blair or Brown, or God forgive, a President Prescott,...this country would be running round like a headless chicken....

God Save The Queen.
Long May She Reign!

I'm American, is it okay to have an opinion? I think they are a great show, and keep Jolly ol' in people' minds and for the most part a smile on our faces. From what I read, it doesn't cost the average British citizen a pense that doesn't come back into the country two-fold.
It keeps an interesting history and tradition alive. And frankly, I love the Queen and her family, except Old Zorba, and not too happy about him. A handsome man gone sour, for sure.

I'm American and I like the tradition of England's Royal family. It's a little weird though, just in the way they are rich just for being born. Not something I think should be done away with though. Not hurting anything from what I can see. You Brits might think differently though.

About the same as anyone else. Two things I take issue with, though. The Prince of Wales is called ' The Defender Of The Faith ' - I doubt that's a legitimate position, doctrinally. Second, he enjoys the privilige of taking any woman he so fancies anywhere in the kingdom by royal right. Quite illegitimate. Kings and princes are subject to the same moral laws as ordinary men.

I love the Queen! I feel the Queen is like any mother "Where did I go wrong?"....(smile)....I basically like the whole family (note the word basically). However, I do not think Charles should be king after marrying Camilla (and how dare Camilla even show her face at Diana's memorial! - such bad taste). And William is a bit too liberal to be king. There must be a distinction of classes and William wants to act like a commoner (just like when Pres. Jimmy Carter carried his own suitcases after becoming President). Tsk tsk. Noblesse Obligesse! - whatever happened to this phrase? The world is going downhill....

I like the Royal family, I think we know too much about their personal affairs which makes life a little harder for them, espcially when they have family issues, but overall they are a loving family.

Despite having absolutley everything materially, they appear to be unhappy people.
Their wealth is certainly enviable, but from all reports their family life is not warm or harmonious. Accounts of Prince Charles' upbringing sound very sad.
I'd rather be me.

Of the English royals, I think not much and not often. They're in danger of drowning during a spring shower from "nose in the air" syndrome.
