I am helping my child with a poster for school and we were wondering if it was okay to use window markers for her poster since we can't find any other brown.

Yes, the markers for windows can be used on other things. The markers that are made for other things don't work well on windows, so it's more like this:
Window markers = everything markers
non-window markers = everything but windows.

yeah its fine to use those i use then all the time. There shouldnt be any problem at all.
