The easiest way to find out if you have SP1 or SP2 is this:
on your Desktop, right click on My Computer. When the contextual menu pops up, choose "Properties"
When the System Properties panel pops open, you should be looking right at the information you need. If not, click on the "General" tab and it will be listed there.
If you want to know EVERYTHING that is on your computer, it's memory, hardware, I mean everything...then go download and install Belarc Advisor. When you run the program, it takes a snapshot of your PC and then creates a webpage with all the information that you can print off. As you change your computer by installing new software and hardware and drivers, when you run it, it will update the snapshot and you'll always have current and complete information about your PC.
It runs under Windows only and I've used it with Win9x, ME, XP.

For XP, click Start..Run and type msinfo32. You can also click Start...Programs...Accessories...System Tools...System Information. All the info should appear on the right window pane.
