I drove from the Capital of SC to North Carolina late in October and the leaves were not yet at peak but it was really nice! Probably not Vermont nice, but it was as good as Minnesota was this year! I was impressed because i had heard that in Arkansas the leaves just turned brown and dropped.

the length of autumn is the issue here, in the northern states, autumn lasts all of 5 minutes, the further south one travels the longer summer and autumn lasts, around I-70 it even starts to get colourful and lasts long enough to enjoy in shirtsleevs or a light jacket, further south you go it gets to where the light jacket is unnecessary and autumn is a bit more on the green side, and winter isn't winter like we know winter in minnesota, or even kansas, it is just chilly and maybe a bit icy once in a while.
like winter in Houston, texas...if they get a dusting of snow on the katey freeway, it is an excuse to have a 37 car pile up. whereas hwy 35 through minnesota 3 ft. of snow drifting to 8 bazzillion feet on the road is quite normal, and the folks there just keep on keepin' on.
(i lived there for a year, and that winter for 3 weeks it stayed at something colder and no warmer than -40, that's fourty BELOW zero)

I trust Skylinecontinual, in spite of the undeniable fact that it may substitute into so crowded interior the autumn that there are certainly site visitors jams, which style of takes away the exhilaration of all of it. have self assurance it or no longer, North Georgia has some alluring colour/ecosystem and it is not overrun for the main area. look at the area alongside US76 close to the North Carolina border. cities consisting of Dillard, Clayton, Hiawassee, Tullalah Falls and Blairsville are great for ecosystem and trekking. have exciting!

In fact, the South has the most beautiful autumn! The weather is not as horrible as it is in the north, and the colors of the trees stay longer. Many people come from allover the IS to NC to see the colors and experience the milder climate.

Let me tell you from experience: Fall is probably the time I anticipated most when I lived in So.Cal because it meant that the days would be cooler. By cooler I mean that the mean temperature was below 70 as opposed to hovering around 100. Leaves fall, and everything turns grey, just like in Chicago or Boston or Minneapolis. It just does so much more gradually, and it almost never (and I mean ALMOST NEVER) snows.

I can't tell you about Florida or California, but in Louisiana, the leaves change colors and they do fall off. Have a great day.
