Terrible pains 'in her stomach' probably have to do with eating poorly (high fat foods) or eating too much while the stomach is being squeezed by the uterus.

How long has it been since she's eaten? THat' makes a big difference? Pregnant women that far along eat a lot less at one sitting, but several more sittings in a day.

If the pain intensifies, then I'd call the dr again. If he's not concerned now, it might be because he's had experience with them before. You say she already called and he's not concerned.

The only one you should listen to in the case of pain during pregnancy is medical experts. Call the emergency room and ask to talk with a nurse, tell the nurse your problem and do as instructed.

you need to find out what kind of pains she's having. Is it heartburn, gas or cramping in the lower abdomen? The best thing to do is to consult a doctor immediately for the safety of the baby and this lady.
