Breat milk so long as you aren't taking medications or have HIV. It has antibodies in it from the mother to help protect the child against illness. And for whatever reason, the sucking action seems to stimulate all sorts of things from IQ to good health later in life. Not to mention the fact it's free! I liked that part the best when I breastfed. Formula is too expensive.

Newborn babies need ONLY formula or breastmilk. If you chose bottle feeding with formula the hospital will give the baby formula and you just stick with whatever brand formula the hospital/Dr. tells ya. Newborns can not handle any other foods until they are older.

Your baby is Only allowed milk (breastfed or formula fed) until 4-6 months or unless otherrwise advised by the paediatrician. From 4- 6 months onwards then only can be introduced to baby food. i was also told that if he doubled his birth weight then you may introudce him to baby foods.

Breast milk until they start cutting teeth. At that time their digestive juices change and they can handle other food. One of the healthiest babies and biggest babies I have ever seen was breast feed only until he was a year old.
