Other than sleeping till noon, shopping and talking on the phone with girlfiriends and maybe picking up kids from school, my wife doesn't do anything all day. I have a full-time live-in nanny who takes care of the kids, cooks and cleans.
My wife is 30, has a college degree, no health problems and absolutely no real reason not to work or at least not to do something at home.
Every time I try to talk about it, there are tons of excuses: she wants to be with kids, she can't work all day, it's too stressful, rush hour traffic every day, not comfortable in her field, etc., etc., etc.
How do you motivate a spouse to something productive in her life? There are many part time or volunteer positions available.

If she's happy, she's just one of the lazy ones.
But I'm sure if you look closely..You will see
that she is suffering from DEPRESSION.
It is not normal for someone that young
to not have some interest. Seek counseling.
She may try to bluff, or resist, insist you both
go as a couple. You could save your marriage.

Ok first get rid of the nanny as long as she is doing everything your wife has no motavation to do anything.Second tell her flat out it takes two in a relationship to work.Let her know if she cant give more in the relationship then its time to go you seprate ways.I know this may be hard for you im sure you love her a lot but there is a little more to it.If she leaves then she had no respect for all you do.There are many women out there who would die to have a man like yourself. Please dont get me wrong i dont think the woman should be bare foot and pregnent and slave in the house all day evey relationship takes two.

First, it is a full time job to take care of kids. Can she volunteer in the school to be around the kids. School's need people. So try to talk to her about doing volunteer work in your kids school. My wife did this when our kids where small. She learn a lot , also maybe that is the problem , maybe she may want to to take care of the kids herself. Maybe you have to cut loose of the nanny. She may want to take care of the kids , do the cooking and cleaning. That maybe the problem. It is a full time job to take care of kids.

I think she may be depressed. Getting on her won't help,so try being supportive and tell her you are concerned and ask if you can help or suggest that she might like to talk to someone. If she says no,continue to be supportive, thats the best thing you can do. And don't call her lazy,it isn't going to help I'm 64 and been there and done that so give it a try. Good Luck

It sounds like you need couples counseling to deal with this. Theres probably a deeper issue there as why she doesn't want to work, and therapy can help you two figure out what is wrong and fix it. Good luck!

How ungrateful is this? She should be worshipping you for supporting you and your family. I am surprised you are still with her.
I would fire the nanny and make her be a housewife. What is the value add of her existence?

sounds like she is in a serious rut.....good luck...at 30, she has the world by the butt and she is taking advantage of it all...what a waste of a life....if nothing else, wouldn't you think she could be grateful for what she has and want to make the home special for her husband and her children.....sorry about your luck...you sound like a good guy....I hope your children are well loved and happy...good luck

Oh my god, I don't have a solution for your wife's laziness...
BUT IF YOU DIVORCE HER I'LL MARRY YOU!
I guarantee I'm a better cook...I love kids...and I'm great in bed!
Oh to have a life like that...
