Tomlinson is in his sixth year in the NFL, all with the Chargers, who drafted him #5 in the 2001 draft in the trade with Atlanta that allowed the Falcons to draft Michael Vick (San Diego gave up the #1 overall for the #5 overall and the first pick of the second round, which turned out to be Drew Brees).
