I have a HP DVD840x writer, and I seem to be having extremely slow burn times. For instance, when I burn a full audio CD, it's taking an average of about 20-25 minutes!.....at maximum speed it should only be taking a couple of minutes max. I have a Athlon 4000 2.4 gig computer....but I only have 512 megs of ram. Could the amount of RAM I have in the computer be slowing things down, or is it most likely something else? Thanks.

ram can really change things around. however, with 2.4 gigs n 512 ram.. it sounds pretty neat to me.
do a complete reinstallation of the drives ...
or try if there are any 'background' processes of the burning software that is slowing it down.

You don't want to burn at maximum as it will introduce errors. RAM could play a part, but upgrading your IDE cables to 80 "strands" will help. Check your background processes and stop the ones that are not vital.

I think the problem with your computer is ether you have to much memory on it or your Internet is to slow.
