If I made poorly on my first semester in 9th grade but I barely passed with a 60, Yet I made all 95's and above on the last semester of 9th grade and 10th,11th, and 12th. If I made good on SAT and ACT as well would that still qualify me for an academic scholarship?

If you have done well since the middle of ninth grade and had good scores on your SAT/ACT, then you should still qualify for scholarships. They are based on your overall GPA and QPA and your percentile in your class.

1.) There are thousands of scholarships which have different requirements. You would most likely qualify for some and not others.
2.) Not all scholarships require grades or SAT & ACT scores, some just a simple essay or 2-3 letters of reccomendation.
3.) Some scholarships are career specific, hobby specific, etc.
4.) Apply for all forms of federal financial aid

Your chances are still fairly good. Most scholarship judges analyze your ladder years of high school more closely than your beginning. Colleges and scholarship recruiters take in to consideration that everyone makes mistakes and the fact that you improved shows your maturity and seriousness about your future.

It depends on the college - but it is possible - a few bad grades your freshman year shouldn't hurt you long-term!!!

Good Luck!!!
