Dreams are like a destination upon an unknown distant shore across uncharted waters .
If we knew that at the start one would think we were better prepared to reach them.
Yet amazingly some of us hang on through the storms of life and make it happen.
And the stories they tell upon destination give hope.
Dreams can be very very hard to hold on to.

As you get older, your hold on dreams is not as strong because you learn to balance expectations with reality, and you tend to compromise. When I was little I dreamed all the time of being a pilot. The closest I came to that dream was learning how to fly a hang glider. Turns out that is much more fun and exciting than flying a plane with a motor. So, looking on the bright side, maybe dreams come true, but not in the way you might expect them to.

In the words of Paul Simon: "Hang on to your hopes, my friend -- that's an easy thing to say but if your hopes should pass way, then simply pretend -- that you can build them again."

It's not hard. It's ok to have dreams that you know will never come true--because in some way we can make them come true.

I will never be a fairy princess, but I can visit an estate imagine myself in a castle garden strolling hand in hand with my good knight.

I will never be a ballerina, but I can still dance and twirl and imagine being on stage.

I will never be a great curator, but I can bring my child to a museum and explore the painting or artifact with them.

If we don't worry about the details, our dreams can come true.
Perception helps us hold on to them.

i am still holding onto that one dream. in fact i would not let it go. not ever even though i see no more hope in it but that's how it's going to be. those with dreams succeeds. that's how i see it. and i even though hope is lost, i somehow have faith deep within me and in God that my dream would definitely come true all it takes are time.
