Not easy to answer but the media plays an important role, they can interfere to the max, making everyday life harder, almost always the media is biased..☺

All depends on the story and the demographics that the politicians want to reach. You may find a very Liberal friendly story as a big exclusive story on say the CBC, because it effects Seniors because a lot of seniors watch the CBC for their news coverage. The conservatives may do the same thing with CTV to get the baby boomers and business people. The media and politicians use each other. That is why it is always important to get your news from more than one source, because the media is biased.

The media are selective about what they broadcast. Their selectivity is based on the political bias of their readers and advertisers. They will blow things up out of all proportion to discredit or embarrass the opposition. It is not really balanced because the right seems to have more powerful media support than the left, for obvious reasons. Therefore, the left receives far less favourable publicity than the right.
