Just went last week, and regular parking in the lot was $10, or preferred parking (which is closer) was $20.

If you go to the movies, they give you a coupon for $10 to spend at Citywalk, no longer a partial refund for parking.

Best of luck :-)

Having been there myself many times, I guess I can consider myself to be an expert. First off, you definitely want to get a dual-park pass. In Islands of Adventure, there are 2 main roller coasters (Incredible Hulk and Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge) and the current main attraction is the Harry Potter land/world/place. In Islands of Adventure, you can spend about 2 days to experience everything. In the Universal Studios park, there are also 2 main roller coasters (Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, where you can select what music you want to listen to while riding, and Revenge of the Mummy, arguable the best ride in both parks.) As far as a main attraction, there isn't one but there are more rides in this park and the scenery is interesting. The final can't miss place is City Walk which is located in between both parks (no fee). There is a large selection of restaurants (i prefer Hard Rock Cafe and Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co.) which are great for a group lunch/dinner. For meal-passes, Universal isn't stupid so the price difference between a package and separate won't be much. I personally feel that the meal plan isn't necessary as the food isn't too pricey and considering that it only works at a very limited number of places, it can be a waste of money. The best way to get a good deal on hotel is to go during a non tourist season (November, January etc.) In the summer, the cheapest time is beginning-mid August (Florida schools begin so prices are noticeable cheaper and the hours are shorter.) The only draw back is that the park is usually only open from 9:00-10:00 (still enough time to get things down though.) As far as hotels go, here is the guide. Royal Pacific Resort: Most affordable, largest hotel, 2nd closest to the park (5-10 min walk by a path or water taxi, don't take the shuttle bus as it goes to the other two hotels first.) Best pool and good for families with kids between 6-10. Hawaiian themed. Hard Rock Hotel: Medium priced, smallest hotel, closest to the park (>5 min walk) smallest hotel, bland pool. Good for families with kids aged 10-15. Rock and Roll themed. Portofino Bay Hotel: Most Expensive, medium sized, farthest from the park (30+ min walk, a little ridiculous, you are forced to use water taxi or rickshaws) best food, interesting beach themed pool. Good for families with kids 16+ and good for adults. One thing to also consider is that staying at an on site Universal hotel (one of the three listed) grants your room key the express pass ability (you will be able to use the express line on all rides by showing your room key.) Express pass is fairly expensive so it is very enticing. I hope this helps!

It is indeed $10 for general parking and $20 for preferred parking which puts you closer to Citywalk. If you drive anything bigger than a van, like an RV I believe the price jumps up to $20 for general parking.

I wouldn't suggest parking down at the metro station as the cops are down there pretty often and like to mess with people they have suspicions of since that parking is supposed to be for riding the train only.

Its not free, its not metered. Its anywhere from $7-20 dollars depends on what you are driving. last time I went was with my entire family, we had a passenger van and they charged us $10 I think. But if you're going to the movies, I think you can get credit for your parking entry fee.

You park in one of several garages. And it is pretty expensive. I don't recall exactly, but I think about $15.

Parking us up the wah-zoo. just park in the metro station downstairs and take the trolley up to the park. The metro parking is just right across the street and it's free.
