My 12 year old niece wants to buy my nano from me. She has a history of having things broken on her; Shuffle stopped working, cell phone sim card burned, etc. I'm not sure that it will be cared for. She wants to give me $50 for it. Should I?

I rarely use my nano...

My mom (her grandmother) and her mom don;t really want her to have an iPod as they are stolen quite frequently in our town.

She brokeher phone because it wasn't a Razr. She claims al her friends have Razr's and iPod nanos. Jeez - I wish I had those things when I was 12.

If she broke her phone and shuffle, what makes you think she won't break this. She probably wants to fit in with the socialites at school. Let her get her own.

First of all no,because if she has a bad history of not using her items correctly or messing around so much. Second, if your ipod is a good treasure to you,& u sold it for a very cheap price, then you wouldn't want her to break it right after she gets it do you?
Just imagine how much money u spent on all those songs & the price you paid for your ipod!! What you should do is sit her down & tell her that if she purchases your ipod, then she has to take very good care of it. To ensure this uncheck songs on your itunes, plug in your ipod & only leave 5 songs or so left that your neice likes. Then tell her for every week that she takes good care of your ipod, that you'll add 10 or so extra songs. That way once she has all her songs, she'll realize that she needs to take better care of things, especially from then on by using money to buy extra songs!!! I Hope this helped you out.

Good Luck & Happy Holidays~!

You do realize that once you sell it to her, it becomes hers and what ever happens to it is no longer your concern. She is 12 and not very responsible yet. Things in her possession will be broken, lost, given away etc...etc...
The real question is whether or not you are ready to part with the nano. If not, tell her and then surprise her with a much less expensive mp3 player if she doesnt have one.

NOO!
an ipod nano is like 200 dollars! You can seel it on ebay for twice as much as she is offering. Although she is your cousin. What you have to think about is would she do that to you(give you a nano for 50 dollars)?

p.s. im curios as into why you don't want your nano anymore i love mine to deatH!

if you are using it and like it, why would you sell it to her, family or not.

I personally wouldn't, not for $50, thats less than 1/2 the price you probably paid for it! i definately would say no to that.

whoah! wait, she's 12 and already has had time to break a cell phone? she sounds spoiled, don't sell it to her!

well if she is not responsible then dont give it to her
because 50 aint near enough for a i pod because an ipod runds like 50 dollers an either way you get screwed out of the deal

Well no.
If she has that bad of history with things then sell it from her for more or dont sell it to her at all. Since of her history I would say no less than $100

no. big no. especially for that $50? yeah right. i bet you could get at least $100 for it on eBay, especially since it's rarely used.

tell her to save up enough by herself and get it. especially since she doesn't take care of her expensive things. it looks like you implied that she broke her phone on purpose so that she could get a razr? that is so messed up. she must be spoiled. she should be more thankful for her stuff, there are kids who don't get sh*t for christmas. that's hecka messed up.

unless you dont care about your ipod, i wouldn't do it...

now if she offers you MORE money, and the nano is in excellent condition, then i'd say yes.

good luck to you and happy holidays! :)
