I`ve had a Bosch for about a year. It`s a little under powered, but we seem to push tools pretty hard. I really like the weight. The fence and guide are tight and very acurate. Table also extends sideways about 13 inches. Just saw one on Amazon for $465

I suggest the Dewalt DW744s portable table saw , i have more than 10 years expertise working for Black and Decker so let me give u some information. First warranty. 3 year limited warranty, 1 year full service for maitenance, and 90 day money back no question asked. Second. a network of servicenters with factory training techs to help u. also you can go online for parts, schematic diagrams and customer service. now after saying that let's talk about the saw. It is a heavy duty 10" inch portable saw with stand "S" wich is foldable., it includes a carbide 24 tooth blade, and a miter gauge. The fence is "Rack and Pinion" for fast , smooth and accurate cuttings. IT has 6 point underneath the base for calibration, a 15 amps motor, arbor size 5/8" - depth cut at 45 is 2 1/4" and for 90 degrees is 3 1/8" if you have the chance to see it at your local hardware try the telescoping fence and see what are talking here. you can log to WWW.Dewalt.com and find more usefull info. or feel free to call 1-800-433-9258 for any technical issue that u need.
thanks and keep asking ... i love tools!

I, personally own a Hitachi. I've used several over the years and found when you're trying to consider quality, durability and price all in one tool, sometimes you just can't find it! The Hitachi seems to come close and is middle-of-the-road on all counts. I've not had a bit of trouble with this one though. It's the one with the folding stand on it. Has a fairly decent fence also. DeWalt, Craftsman, Milwakee allmake a damn fine saw. Just think of what YOUR OWN guidelines are for it and then make your decision.

i like the dewalts too.. but not sure if that would fit into the portable part. Ryobi has one that the legs fold up and it has wheels... lil-bit heavy to pickup but its great.. thin its about 180.00 looks like a 2-wheeler when folded up. if the link doesnt work.. goto homedepot dot com and search for ryobi table saw.
Ryobi
10 In. Portable Table Saw
229.00
Model BTS20R
i bought a 100.00 small one for easy stuff.. hardwood cuts.. some casing rips etc. only pain about that is its only 12" off the ground .. the one above does all the rest

It all depends on what you're using it for. I am a finish carpenter and use mine almost every day. In my opinion, The dewalt is best. However, if you are not going to be using it for every-day hard-core stuff, I would suggest the Hitachi. I have one of these as well. The price shows the difference. You do get what you pay for. Good Luck.

Dewalt is very nice. however, if it is for light or medium use, I would look into Ryobi or Delta. A very basic saw should start at about $100. For a more precision saw, you will have to spend about $175-$200
