I've been a tomboy all my life, and have never worn lipstick. I don't know what color would look best on me. My skin complexion is just a little darker than my Avatar and my hair color is dirty blonde. If anybody knows this stuff, please help!

Sorry if this is a silly question

I find that since your complexion is really fair and a nice light pink would look great on your skin..But the color that is in right now is red .So if your going to wear red make sure its like a light red with a pink tint to it that way its not so dark .also another pretty color that would look good on you would be a sparkly pink with glitter in it..

Also you need to factor in the shape of your lips to what color lipstick you should wear.
For women with large lips, muted colors such as purples, browns and bronzes are the best choices while women with thinner lips should use light colors.

Wine, berry, cappuccino and mauve colors suit light blondes best while coral, apricot and shades of peach are suitable for blondes that have a golden hue. Warm peach, brown and terracotta shades are for blondes that sport olive skin tones. Redheads may use warm colors such as shades of terracotta, cinnamon and peachy brown while shades such as terracotta, cinnamon and reds with hints of brown are the most suited colors for brunettes.
To help make your lipstick last longer:

Make your lipstick smudge resistant and matte by blotting the excess color on lips using one sheet of two-ply tissue, reapplying the lipstick and blotting it again to absorb the excess oils. Mature women should not use matte lipsticks though, for a little gloss can make their lips appear softer and lip liner will keep the lipstick from melting.

In case, the lip color or brush slips from your hands accidentally and stains your clothes, apply the glycerine on the area and rub it gently, before washing it as usual. For an instant makeover, try a pink creamy blush to add rosy ness to your cheeks and lids and use plump shade on your lips and you are ready to flaunt your beauty.

P.s. you sound really pretty.

A light shimmery pink would look best on you, dark pink and red are too harsh for your complexion. Depending on what you wear, I would say a shimmery pink. Maybe even just a hint of color with a lipgloss top coat. It really depends on the outfit. Best of luck wherever you are going!!

Light pink tone or start with a clear gloss until you get used to using lipstick. One can never go wrong with a neutral light brown color.

Light pink lip gloss is the key because it looks naturally but still adds a lil flair and its pretty. But if you're blonde then red would really make your face hair outfit pop out and be noticed.I think the perfect outfit for you would be a red dress with white accesories and red lipstick. That would look so cool.good luck.

You should go to a department store and go to the make-up counters and try stuff on. Have fun with it. If there is a Sephora store near you, definately go there and ask for a salesperson. Gay men are also a great source for information in this area.

I think you should base it in the color of your dress too!! since you are not so dark, it's not hard to choose the color of your lipstick.
