WHERE IS IT LOCATED IN YOUR APT? CONTACT YOUR APT MANAGER VERBALLY AND IN WRITING. U CAN TEMP SPRAY THE AREA WITH 1 PART BLEACH AND 5 PARTS WATER TO KILL THE GROWTH BUT IT WILL CONTINUE TILL THE WATER SOURCE IS LOCATED. IF U GET NO RESULTS CALL THE HEALTH DEPT IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY.

It doesn't matter where the mold is. The fact that there is mold is enough. There are many remedies but contrary to popular belief, bleach will NOT kill the mold. The mold must be cleaned and removed. The media has blown mold issues out of proportion and the public has been mislead by not really knowing the facts.

Molds come in many different colors ranging from black to white and all colors in between. Because the mold is black doesn't make it dangerous, unless you are allergic to it. Your three month old, however, will likely react adversely, no matter the species.

I would start by contacting your local health department. They should be able to put you in touch with a mold inspector. An inspector should be able to answer question regarding the issue and help from there. I would also contact the landlord because ultimately they are responsible, although my experience tells me they are usually reluctant to do anything about it. Contact a lawyer to discuss any adverse health affects you or your family is having and proceed with caution. Feel free to visit horizon-inspections.com and email me with any questions you may have.

Good luck

well.. if its all over the place sure call the landlord.. you might have to move (are you ready for that?) dont always believe what people say about the landlord will have to put you up somewhere and pay.. it doesnt always happen that way. if its a small area.. spray with bleach water or tilex.. mold feeds off water.. where is the water coming from? not all mold is bad but why take the chance..

Mold must be killed and the areas treated once a week as prevention. It depends on where it is. All homes have some type of mold. In bathrooms spray the area with straight bleach with good ventilation. Tilex's main ingredient is bleach. Several treatments are necessary to kill the mold.Ask your super for help. He may not need to help you.Check your laws that govern apartments in your area. Well, personally I would take care of it myself. Why wait? Have a great Christmas.

Where is it located in your apartment? Is it a wall, baseboard, in a closet? I have residents complaining of sweaty wndows. Every year I send out a flyer to help them understand how high humidity levels, closed blinds, unused exhaust fans and fresh air circulation can help create a perfect environment for mold.
If it is a very small area, you can treat with bleach solution. If it is large then call the office. You may want to call them even if you don't want to fool with it.
