a mystery novel, a sci-fi novel, a historical novel, a romance novel, a fantasy novel, a phone book, some pamphlets addressing various issues, or a big stack of comic books, which one would you pick? Or would you pick something I didn't list?

Hi.
Love your hat,by the way.......
I'd honestly have to say that I vary my reading matter enormously; I like to think that it makes me a more well-rounded person who can hopefully contribute something to any conversations I may get involved in.
It's a big world out there and they don't all read Edgar Alan Poe.
If they did,we'd all be gothic.
What a nice thought............
Can't stand celeb mags,though.
Have a nice Christmas!

I'd read the fantasy and the comics. Now the real question is Manga or Marvel comics, no OK probably both if I'm honest. I read a lot so once I ran out of fantasy and comics I'd probably pick up the mystery next, but I'd just work my way through all of them except the phone book or the pamphlets (I like fiction).

I wouldn't pick just one.

I would pick the mystery novel, the sci-fi novel, the fantasy, AND a big stack of comic books.

But I would have to be able to pick the authors and titles. Books and comics.

You have given us a very complete list. I'm an historical novel man myself. They tend to give one a good idea of social circumstances in the background. To go outside of your list may I suggest the Bible; not that I have ever read it all.
I feel guilty suggesting anything as I look across at the 6 unfinished books beside my chair. They vary from puppy training to James Joyce's Ulysses.

It depends; if the sci-fi novel is a good novel, then yes sci-fi; other than that, I would read a fantasy novel.

Probably a mystery novel. I'd be happy with a music magazine like Q or some trashy celeb gossip nonsense like Heat too though.

Out of those choices I would go with adult comics or graphic novels as they like to be called
