Someone who is a "jobs worth" are the infelxible type.........the expression is a shorten version of the phrase "it's more than my job's worth" which basically means.........won't do anything besides what is in the 'rule book' because to do otherwise might cost them the job.

a jobs worth is somebody who sticks to the letter of his job description with no flexibility in extreme situations where a bit of common sense might help. a bit like a robot.

the name comes from their often repeated phrase "it's more than my jobs worth"
