I think the whole 'What would you do if someone hit your friend like that? Hit him back' thing is bull. First off Smith is a new player, they can't be that close. And hard, dirty fouls like this and even worse happen all the time in the NBA but you don't see the players throwing a schoolyard, thug-act hissy fit. No these were a bunch whiny players who acted like children and it was a pretty stupid sight if you ask me. Smith shouldn't have gotten in Collins face like that, even if what he did was dirty, and Robinson wouldn't have jumped in and escalted things and I have no idea what the hell C-Anthony was thinking. Just when I finally was able to muster up some respect for the guy for the way he's been playing and his charity work he goes and does crap like this. He should have been an example but he had to get involved and acted just as childish as pretty much everyone else. I also think the 'Wa-wa, they had their starters in the game' argument is bull too. Who cares? If Karl wants to be a jerk and leave the players in the game to embarrass them (which he obviously was knowingly doing), and idiotically risk injury to his star players in a game that's won-and-done, then fine. But if New York doesn't like it and are getting sick of being embarrassed, maybe they should try and compete every once in a while. They have no one to blame but themselves and can look at no one else but themselves. Grow up guys. And that's all I have to say about that.

read that denver coach wanted to "finish strong" since his team has had problems ending games. regardless, nba teams take their starters off the floor at end games especially when losing team concedes. this was perceived by the knicks (on their home courtr especially) as running up the score. players get angry when a team tries to shoot at the end game when the outcome is already out of reach so what more with denver up by 20 with 1minute to go and attacking the basket?

while i do not agree with the actual foul i DO agree that a hard foul should have been expected and given under the situation. just like denver wanted to end strong they should not expect the knicks just to give in. regardless of what people (and commishioner stern) think basketball and other sports are b est played with emotions and emotions being what they are, sometimes can get the best of people. its the human element.

what you think?
