You're gay, that's okay, you should tell your friend. However whether it is a heterosexual or gay relationship pursued with a friend, it's taboo, it never works and then the friendship is ruined.
I dated a friend once and it didn't work out, because he was my friend I stayed longer because i didn't want to hurt him, it was the most wasted time I ever spent and I lost my friend because i broke his heart.

You should tell him. I know it may be weird, but you'd be surprised how open-minded people can be, I'm sure he'd be fine with it. If he already knows, like you say, and he's still your friend, what's to be afraid of? Once you tell him that you're gay, wait a little bit, and eventually he might ask you if there's anyone you like, and then you can let him down gently. I'm sure that if your friendship is strong enough, he'll be able to understand, and it won't be weird. Make sure you reassure him that you understand he is straight and that you totally understand that he doesn't feel the same way. He may tell you that it's not going to work out, in which case you'll just have to look for someone else, but I think it'll all be OK.

ummm... this is a toughy.
I think you should probably start off by telling him you're gay first. If it has never been discussed then he might not 'really' know. If he didn't know and reacts badly, don't tell him you want to hook up. If he didn't know and doesn't react badly, wait until he has gotten used to the knowledge of you being gay before you tell him your feelings for him.

Just tell him. Like some other people have said, you might regret it later. I've had a similar situation going on in my life before, and everything worked out for the better. :)

How well do you kow him? What are his views on homosexuality? Have you ever discussed the ssubject? Feel out this subject before you say anything to him. You might get hurt by his response.
