Today my uncle asked me, hey tamara, you got 4 bucks($$) and i said no, he said well you had money from babysitting, what happened to it? I lied that i spent it because i didn't feel comfortable giving him money just so he can go to the corner store to buy some cigarettes or a bag of chips or something. Should i have given him money???Should i stick with not giving him $$

Wow! how lousy! he actually asked you and you lied, to family? I respect your decision for not buying cigarettes, but a bag of chips? And your heart know you were wrong, or else you wouldn't need to ask strangers.And if he was well off, you would think that it was so unfair if it was you in need, and he said "no! it's all spent".

If you give him money, you are creating a begger. If you continue giving him money, he will embarrass you in front of your friends by begging. And besides, you should not be giving no grown man any of your hard earned money unless it's your husband. Not even your boyfriend. Don't let a man start pimping you.

Your uncle should not have asked you. If he needed money, one of your parent's should have been asked. It is none of his business if you have money or not. Please let one of your parent's know he asked you. If you don't, he will ask you again because he may feel you lied to him this time. Or, he may just go looking for it himself and use your lie to him, that you didn't have any money, as justification for taking it from you.
Talk to your mom or dad honey, don't let this go.

Yeah definitely don't give him any money. You sound like a pre-teen/teenager, if you are, you really need to tell your mom or dad. That's pathetic of your uncle. Good for you for not giving him any=)

you should never give him cash if you think he is going to go buy some ciggarettes or beer or something he really shouldn't be asking you for money in the first place because kids are more gullable than adults

if the man works and does not waste his money then you could probably trust him with four dollars just one time but do not let him make a habit of it and make sure he repays what he borrowed from you.

Your uncle should be old enough and responsible enough to manage his own finances. He shouldnt be asking his niece for money ! you did the right thing!
